Golden Sun Weathervane/ the Transit of Venus

Developed in conjunction with architects Cassidy + Ashton, and the parishioners of St. Michael's and All Angels Parich Church in Hoole, this huge three dimensional copper weathervane is to celebrate Jeremiah Horrocks observation of the Transit of Venus. The banner is pierced with the date 1639 to commemorate the year of observation. The sun is gilded with 23.5 K gold leaf.
