Capturing
a heron swooping wings and pre-flight lift, this large sculpture
was concieved with ornate reed detail at the base and is mounted
onto a brass plate, for fixing. The heron's pose and character,
in this early design, became the core inspiration for both the
Chelsea heron, and the tilted heron weathervane.
This
sculpture was first featured
in an article in
Period Ideas, August 2007, and is displayed here in the
gardens of Delamore House.
